In about an hour we’re going to be up to our eyeballs in horses and hooves and a new pair of shoes for Baxter. Budd is coming out this morning and in a weird twist of weirdness it’s going to be just me and Matt handling everything for the most part. I’m VERY glad to have Matt helping as he’s quite good with ground handling, particularly the thoroughbreds, and is enough like Jim to be completely comfortable going into the shark tank to fetch them out.
And speaking of Matt- we are a week into his visit and I’m not really sure how we’re going to do without him when he leaves. I’m considering hiring him, for real, as the kid is just awesome farm help… he’s already taken over the evening feedings and has helped set up several jumping lanes in the woods.
So anyway… we’re still having a blast and I think other than last night’s brain fryingly bad entertainment (Teen Girl Squad let us down!!!) he’s having a pretty good time as well… I think… but then he’s so dang British it’s hard to tell… but at least he’s getting along great with the horses

What a handsome young man. And, he’s a hard worker? Keep that fellow there, even if you have to hogtie him!

LOL Louise! We’re trying to convince him to stay for longer (and not re-enlist in the British Army). He’s been a real asset here and the horses love him 🙂
